learnslovenian-marija.com cares about your privacy. For this reason, we collect and use personal data only as necessary to provide our products, services, websites, and mobile applications, and to communicate with you about them or as you have requested (together, our “Services”). Your personal data includes information such as:
Name
Address
Telephone number
Photographs
Date of birth
Email address
Billing and payment information
Candidate data (for job applicants)
Other collected data that could identify you directly or indirectly
Our Privacy Policy explains not only how and why we use the personal data we collect, but also how you can access, update, or otherwise take control of your personal data.
If you ever have questions about our practices or any of the rights described below, you may contact our Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) and the dedicated team supporting that office by contacting us at marija@tibis.si. We actively monitor and manage this mailbox so that we can provide an experience you can trust.
What data we collect, how we collect it, and why
Much of the data you would likely consider personal is collected directly from you when you create an account or purchase any of our Services, for example billing information including your name and address, request help from our customer support team, for example your telephone number, complete contact forms or request newsletters or other information from us, for example your email address, or participate in contests and surveys, apply for a job, or otherwise take part in activities we promote that may require information about you.
However, we also collect additional information when providing our Services in order to ensure necessary and optimal performance. These methods of collection may not always be obvious, so we want to explain them in more detail, as they may vary from time to time.
Cookies and similar technologies on our websites and in our mobile applications allow us to track your browsing behavior, such as links clicked, pages viewed, and products purchased. More specifically, the data collected relates to your interactions with features of our website or with third-party features such as social media plugins included in the Services, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, for example to determine your language preferences, browser type and settings, date and time of use of the Services, device type and settings, operating system used, application IDs, unique device identifiers, and error information. These technologies also automatically collect data to measure website performance and improve our systems, including metadata, log files, page load times, server response times for DNS resolution optimization, network routing, and server configurations.
We may receive supplementary information about you from other sources, such as publicly available databases, social media platforms, or third parties from whom we have purchased data. In such cases, we may combine this information with information we already hold about you in order to update, expand, and analyze the accuracy of our records, assess a job applicant’s qualifications, identify new customers, and provide products and services that may be of interest to you. If you provide us with personal data about others, or if others provide us with your personal data, we will use that information only for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.
How we use information
We strongly believe in data minimization and in limiting the data we collect and its use only to what we have permission for, what is necessary to provide the Services you purchase or interact with, or what we may be required or permitted to do to comply with legal obligations or other lawful purposes.
Providing, improving, updating, and enhancing our Services
We collect various information in connection with your purchase, use, and interactions with our Services. We use this information to improve and optimize the operation and performance of our Services, including our websites and mobile applications, diagnose problems and identify potential security risks, compliance risks, errors, or needed service improvements, and detect and prevent fraud and abuse of our Services and systems.
Much of the information collected is aggregated or statistical data about how individuals use our Services and is not linked to any personal data.
Sharing with trusted third parties
We may share your personal data with affiliated companies within our group of companies, with third parties with whom we have partnered in order to integrate their services into our Services, and with trusted third-party service providers when necessary for them to perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing by credit card, displaying advertisements, running contests or surveys, carrying out analytics of our Services and customer demographics, communicating with you, for example by email or survey delivery, customer relationship management, security, risk management, and compliance, and recruitment support and related services.
These third parties, and any subcontractors they may be permitted to use, have agreed not to share, use, or retain your personal data for any purpose other than as necessary to provide the required services.
We will also disclose your data to third parties in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, whether through liquidation, bankruptcy, or otherwise, in which case we will disclose your data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets, or if we sell, buy, merge with, are acquired by, partner with other companies or businesses, or sell some or all of our assets. In such transactions, your data may be among the transferred assets.
Communicating with you
We may contact you directly or through a third-party service provider in connection with products or services you have signed up for or purchased from us, as necessary to deliver transaction-related or service-related communications. We may also contact you with offers for additional services that we believe may be valuable to you if you have given us your consent, or where we are permitted to contact you based on legitimate interests. You are not required to give consent as a condition of purchasing our goods or services. These communications may include email, SMS messages, telephone calls, or online chat.
You may also update your subscription preferences regarding receiving communications from us and/or our partners by logging into your account and visiting the “Account Settings” page.
If we collect information from you in connection with a co-branded offer, it will be made clear at the point of collection who is collecting the information and whose privacy policy applies. In addition, all choices available to you regarding the use and/or sharing of your personal data with the co-branded partner will be described, as well as how to exercise those choices. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites. Please read the privacy policy of any website you visit.
If you use a service that allows you to import contacts, for example when using email marketing services to send emails on your behalf, we will use the contacts and any other personal data only for the requested service. If you believe that anyone has provided us with your personal data and would like to request that we remove it from our database, please contact us at marija@tibis.si.
Transfer of personal data abroad
If you use our Services from a country other than the country in which our servers are located, your personal data may be transferred across international borders. This will be done only when necessary to perform our contract with you, if we have your consent, or subject to appropriate standard contractual clauses. Also, when you call us or start a chat, we may provide support from one of our global locations outside your country of origin.
Compliance with legal, regulatory, and law enforcement requests
We cooperate with government officials, law enforcement officials, and private parties in the enforcement of and compliance with the law. We may disclose any information about you to government officials, law enforcement officials, or private parties if, in our sole discretion, we believe it is necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process, such as subpoena requests, to protect our property and rights or those of a third party, to protect public safety or the safety of any person, or to prevent or stop activity that we consider illegal or unethical.
Where legally permitted, we may take reasonable steps to notify you if we are required to disclose your personal data to third parties as part of a legal process.
How we protect, store, and retain your data
We follow generally accepted standards to store and protect the personal data we collect, both during transmission and after receipt and storage, including the use of encryption where appropriate.
We retain personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.
The criteria used to determine our retention periods include how long we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide Services to you, for example as long as you have an account with us or continue to use our Services, whether account owners make changes or their users delete information through their accounts, whether we have a legal obligation to retain the data, for example some laws require us to keep records of your transactions for a certain period before they may be deleted, and whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position, such as in relation to enforcement of our agreements, resolution of disputes, applicable limitation periods, litigation, or regulatory investigations.
If you have any questions about the security or retention of your personal data, you may contact us at marija@tibis.si.
How you can access, update, or delete your data
To easily access, view, and update your personal data, log into your account and visit “Settings.” If you would like to exercise your right to deletion or portability of your personal data, please contact marija@tibis.si.
If you submit a request to delete your personal data and that data is necessary for an ongoing transaction on our platform, we will comply with the request only to the extent that it is no longer required to complete any transactions or for our legitimate business purposes, or legal or contractual recordkeeping requirements.
Age restrictions
Our Services are available for purchase only to persons over the age of 18. Our Services are not directed to persons under 18 and are not intended to attract them. If you know of or have reason to believe that anyone under the age of 18 has provided us with any personal data, please contact us according to the instructions below.
Non-discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. Except as permitted by applicable law, we will not refuse you goods or services, charge different prices or rates for goods or services, including through discounts, benefits, or penalties, provide you with a different level or quality of goods or services, or suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes in this Privacy Policy and in any other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our homepage at least thirty days before the changes take effect.
